The Hazards Of Supermarket Shopping

A few weeks ago, I read this on xkcd.com (I'm new to it so I was just going through all the old ones to catch up) and found it really clever. I decided to write "Come explore the future with me!" on a Post-It note, and put it in my wallet, so that I would remember to talk to Ayly about it. Why do you care?

Well, I was at the register at our local IGA today (buying some imported High-Fructose Corn Syrup soft drinks for ridiculously inflated prices) and pulled a crisp $20 note out of my wallet and proceeded to hand it to the "check out chick". Now here's where it gets interesting ladies and gentleman, I didn't realise, until said "chick" exclaimed "what?" in her loudest bogan tone, that the post-it with "Come explore the future with me!" written on it, was stuck to the money I had handed her. I quickly snatched the post-it off her, grabbed my beverages and stealthily slid out the nearest automatic door.

If I was American I'd probably sue Post-It because they failed to adequately label their product with a warning like "may stick to money and embarrass you", but because I live in this wonderful country of ours, a country filled with people that don't rely on settlements for income, I'll just settle for an interesting anecdote. Hope you found it as amusing as I did.
