Let The Battle Begin...

This afternoon whilst having a glass of water in the work lunchroom, I started thinking of ways to get the message of Christ to the young people in my area. Knowing that a great way to witness is by friendship and Christian example, I thought, "hey, I'll just go down to the high school in my uniform and start talking to kids as they walk out", then, I scrapped that, because when I was at school I wouldn't have wanted to talk to some tool in a uniform. Then I thought, "hey, I'll just go dressed casually", then I scrapped that as well, because then I'd just look like a drug dealer, trying to get kids to buy on their way home.

So then, it hit me! After I regained consciousness from whatever hit me, I had an idea! I should organise a battle of the bands, endorsed by The Salvation Army, for the local jnr and snr high schools of the area. As I'm doing that, I'd meet heaps of people, maybe find some young muso's that would like to come and play at the corps, and also get it out there The Salvo's aren't just a charity, or simply people that look like shopping centre security, but fun loving passionate Christians!!!

At this stage it's just a concept, but if I get Gods blessing (prayer required) and then I got some other people together, that had varying skills and abilities that they could apply to the project, I think It'd be a good tool for outreach, and pretty fun as well!!!

Fingers crossed that God wants this to happen, and that I have the ability to organise and stick to what could be such a great thing!
