Upon looking at all the different photo's people post on Flickr, I look at mine and think "wow, mine are so aesthetically bleh". But it doesn't really bother me, because whats beautiful to me isn't necessarily beautiful to all. I suppose thats where the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" comes from.
This photo of the two Rosella's, that I took on my way to my old schools speech night, looks average. Its birds, on a roof, with a blue sky background. But to me, its so much more significant.
I was returning to my old school, as a hard working, success. Not in terms of earning lots of money, or completeing a uni degree, or being especially outstanding, but in the sense that I had a job, and had become good at that job. Proving all those people wrong that had said I'd never apply myself to anything! The fact that it was a warm summers evening, in mid-December, the happiness of Christmas swirling in the air, only accentuated my good spirits, so that as I passed this building, seeing those two beautiful Rosella's, I couldn't resist taking a photo!
So when others look at this, they see two birds, but when I look, I see a moment of contentment, and now, you can too.
